The love you have for yourself sets the foundation for everything thereafter.
Everything stems from self-love. The quality of life we live, the friends we have, the career we desire and the partner we call in.
Not until I fully embraced this concept, did I create the life I dreamed of and of course brought in my life partner.
For years I confused confidence for self-love, but you can be confident and still lack love for yourself. Think of it this way, how would you treat the little 7 year old you? How much more kindness does just that thought initiate in you?
Right off the bat you can see that you most likely do things to yourself daily that you wouldn't do to the 7 year old version of you.
This is a great place to start when you are trying to practice self-love on a daily basis. It's a more forgiving, encouraging, gentler approach and in turn, it works.
Now to the fun stuff! When you have forgiven yourself and begun to love yourself for who you are, the vibration you emit shifts. Then and only then do you magnetize your equal. When you are vibrating at your highest level, the person who matches your vibration will find you.
The best part is, you have both done so much of the work on yourself that by the time you connect, there isn't much mirroring or hardships that need to be had.
My top 5 Secrets for a Healthy relationship
1. Treat him as you want to be treated.
Simple, golden rule is to treat others how you would like to be treated but it is so often forgotten.
It's in the little things. You are no longer going through life solo so think of him in all that you do. Take care of him, do that extra little thing that you know he will appreciate. Listen to him, be there for him and respect him.
2. Know his love language.
There are 5 love languages, made famous by Gary Chapman's book, The 5 Love Languages. They are: words of affirmation, acts of service, spending quality time, giving gifts and physical touch.
Once you know what your partner associates being loved with, you can better love them the way they need. This is most likely different than yours so it's important to remember your partners needs.
3. Communication is key.
If you ever feel like you can't express your feelings, you are probably in the wrong relationship. You should feel safe to freely express yourself in all aspects of your life. It's just as important to reciprocate this to your partner and give them a safe place to freely express themselves and to be heard.
4. Support each others goals.
Your partners goals should be as important as your own. As you grow, you want your partner to grow along side with you. Check in on each other to see where and how you can support one another to accomplish each of your goals. Often times, you can become the best manifestor for one another as you don't have the negative self talk that we ourselves often have to battle when visualizing.
5. Make each other laugh and be yourself!
This is a great story I love to share regarding maintaining and having a great relationship. Imagine you are your partner or future partner are driving somewhere and all of a sudden it is bumper to bumper traffic. There are two ways that this can go, you can get pissed off, frustrated and start swearing and create a ball of tension in the car OR you can turn on the music and car dance together. You can tell a lot about a person in uncomfortable situations...for lifers you're going to want to choose the person who makes the best out of every scenario.
