It all started with a feeling—a deep connection we noticed among our community. So many of you are ocean lovers, sun chasers, and beach-dwelling surfers from around the world. You live in rhythm with nature, the tides, and the sun—and so do we. Our skincare has always been crafted to work with the elements, not against them. It’s sun-safe, surf-inspired, and rooted in the rituals of the natural world.
But until recently, we had never literally brought surfing into our brand.
We started by reaching out to a few local surf brands around Los Angeles, thinking maybe we’d do a giveaway or small activation to introduce a crossover between our worlds. When we connected with Almond Surfboards, something bigger sparked.
Instead of a one-off giveaway, Almond came back with a bold idea:
What if we created co-branded surfboards?
Immediately, it felt like a full-circle moment. A chance to show the world that The Golden Secrets isn’t just skincare—it’s a lifestyle. And not just any lifestyle, but one built on presence, freedom, elemental beauty, and sun-soaked simplicity. The kind of life where you nourish your skin with nature’s ingredients, then run headfirst into the ocean—salty, glowing, alive.
We always say The Golden Secrets goes “beyond the skin,” and this collaboration was the perfect way to bring that message to life.
The Boards: A Reflection of Our Shared Philosophy
The three custom Almond surfboards we created together aren’t for sale. They’re an expression of who we are—our team, our community, our values. They represent a way of life that embraces both ritual and spontaneity, beauty and function, skin and sea.
We took a little road trip to pick up the boards, and Kevan Doyle came along to capture the moment. Miska Sykora, Kaleo Golden, and Rachel Deluca joined us for the ride, embodying the carefree, sun-drenched spirit of the day. The result? A dreamy, vintage-style photo diary that makes you feel like you’ve been transported to another era, where time slows down, laughter is effortless, and there’s nothing on your to-do list except to be here now.

Next Generation of Sun-Lovers
Jesse Golden’s son, Kaleo, received a custom board designed just for him—one that reflects his love for the ocean and time spent in the water. He’s already been putting it to good use in Malibu and Topanga, always prepped with Heal All Oil and our Organic Coconut Lip Balm before and after long surf sessions under the sun.
Bringing It All Together
To close out the story, we teamed up with photographers Sarah Orbanic and Jason Yokobosky to document the full essence of the collaboration, on land and in water. The result? A series that captures our boards surrounded by sun, salt, skin rituals, and that signature golden glow.
